Experimental Cocktail Bar:
At first, from the outside, we were confused if it was actually the right place. The owners keep it well hidden. And it is not difficult, but also not necessarily easy to get to. You have to know about it or have heard of it to find it. Which is nice because it makes the place a lot more special. Upon entering, it had a cozy feeling, like being inside a log cabin. But at the same time, it had a mixed modern/classy feel to it. The music was not too loud – loud enough to hear the music, but also soft enough to hold a conversation with someone. When we entered, around 8:30-9:00pm it was already crowded…a good sign. And it only got more customers as the night continued. It was very relaxing to be in the bar, which is why I think so many people find it welcoming and enjoyable to go to for drinks. The customers were from all different ages and all different nationalities. Of course, there were quite a lot of local Parisians there, but we noticed there were some people from Great Britain, and we also met someone from the United States. I think the only complaint we had of the place was that it was a bit too dark, which made it difficult to see (especially the drinks menu). Also, it was a bit too small for the amount of customers that entered. Overall, we enjoyed our time there, and the cocktails were delicious. I think though, it is not such a good place for students to go for a good time. The audience was between 25 and 40 years old, including some business people (it seemed). I think Veerle and I were the youngest people there. But that makes sense, since the drinks cost around 13 euros each – a bit too expensive for thrifty students.Experimental Cocktail Club, 37 Rue St-Sauveur, Paris, 75002.
